EuroTalent IT, on behalf of its client, a global leader in commodities and logistics network of oil, petroleum, metal and mineral resources across 150 countries through an efficient, secure, and sustainable supply chain network, is seeking a highly motivated Mid Software Developer – (JavaScript/Low Code) to join their team in Athens (Glyfada).

Role

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining internal applications using Appsmith, a low-code/open-source platform that leverages JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL to streamline shipping operations.

Scope

As part of the SmartOps initiative, you will contribute to one of the organization’s key digital transformation programmes. Your mission is to replace manual, error-prone shipping workflows with cost-effective, scalable, and automated in-house applications. You will work within a high-volume, global business environment, collaborating closely with Business Analysts in Athens and senior architects across international hubs (London, Mumbai, Houston, Montevideo).

Responsibilities

• Application Development: Build and maintain functional, user-friendly internal applications using the Appsmith platform.
• Technical Implementation: Write dynamic application logic, manage event handling, and perform data manipulation using JavaScript.
• Database Integration: Construct and optimize SQL queries and joins for effective data retrieval and integration.
• UI/UX Design: Build and customize forms, tables, and data-driven interfaces using HTML and CSS.
• Collaboration: Translate operational requirements from the Business Analysis team into technical solutions and integrate REST APIs.
• Global Teamwork: Participate in a distributed development environment, ensuring alignment with global engineering standards.

Requirements

• Educational Background: Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Approximately 3 years of professional software development experience in JavaScript.
• JavaScript Expertise: Solid understanding of core concepts (closures, promises, async/await) and experience consuming REST APIs.
• Web Technologies: Proficiency in HTML and CSS for building and customizing user interfaces.
• Database Skills: Strong command of SQL for data retrieval and manipulation.
• Communication: Fluency in English (written and verbal) is essential for collaborating with a global, distributed team remotely with developers and architects across multiple locations (Athens, London, Mumbai, Houston, Montevideo).
• Soft Skills: High reliability, detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to interpret business requirements into functional code.

Nice to Have:

• Prior experience with Appsmith or similar low-code platforms (Retool, Mendix, etc.).
• Previous exposure to the Shipping, Maritime, or Logistics sectors
